Introduction
Welcome to BrainBloom Kids ("we", "our", or "the app"). This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use our application, how it is used, and your rights as a parent or guardian.
BrainBloom Kids is an all-in-one brain development app for children ages 2–8, featuring drawing, coloring, memory games, puzzles, math games, word games, alphabet learning, and a story builder. The app is available on Android and iOS.
Because this app is directed at young children, we take privacy extremely seriously. This policy is written in plain English so every parent can understand it. By using BrainBloom Kids, you agree to the practices described here.
Information We Collect
Information We Do NOT Collect
- Child's name, age, date of birth, or any identity information
- Parent or guardian email address or phone number
- Location data of any kind (GPS, IP-based, or otherwise)
- Photos, videos, or media from your device gallery
- Contacts, calendar, or any other personal device data
- Biometric information
- Voice recordings or microphone data
Information Collected Automatically (Non-Personal)
Like most mobile apps, certain non-personal technical data may be collected automatically by third-party SDKs integrated into the app. This may include:
- Device type and operating system version (for crash reporting only)
- App version number
- Anonymised, aggregated usage patterns (e.g. which screens are opened) — never linked to an individual
- Ad interaction events (impressions, clicks) collected by Google AdMob
Data Stored Locally on Device
BrainBloom Kids stores the following data locally on your device only. This data never leaves the device and is never transmitted to us or any third party:
- Game progress, high scores, and achievement badges
- Activity streak counts
- App preferences (e.g. sound on/off)
How We Use Information
The limited technical data collected through third-party SDKs is used only for:
- Displaying child-safe, non-personalised advertisements to keep the app free
- Diagnosing crashes and improving app stability
- Measuring general app performance (anonymised, aggregated only)
Advertising & Google AdMob
BrainBloom Kids contains advertisements served by Google AdMob, a third-party advertising network operated by Google LLC. Because this app is directed at children and is enrolled in Google Play's Designed for Families program, we have configured AdMob to serve only non-personalised, child-appropriate advertisements.
requestNonPersonalizedAdsOnly = true on every ad
request. AdMob cannot build a profile of your child.
Types of Ads in the App
| Ad Type | When It Appears | Child Safe |
|---|---|---|
| Banner Ad | Small static ad anchored to the bottom of game screens. Never overlaps game content or interactive controls. | ✅ Yes |
Consent Management (UMP)
For parents in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, and other applicable regions, the app uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to collect your consent before serving ads. This consent dialog appears on first launch and can be revisited at any time via Settings → Ad Privacy Options.
AdMob Data Practices
- AdMob may collect device identifiers to serve non-personalised ads
- No child's personal information is shared with AdMob
- Ad content is filtered to be appropriate for children under Google's Families Ads Programme
- AdMob Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy
COPPA Compliance (Children's Privacy)
BrainBloom Kids is directed at children under 13 and complies fully with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Specifically:
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13
- We do not require account creation, login, or any registration to use the app
- We do not include social features, in-app chat, or communication between users
- We do not include links to external websites within the children's experience
-
All third-party SDKs are configured with child-directed treatment
enabled (
tagForChildDirectedTreatment = true) - Parents may contact us at any time to review, delete, or stop collection of their child's data
GDPR (European Users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Right to access — request a copy of any data we hold about you
- Right to erasure — request deletion of any data we hold
- Right to rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
- Right to object — object to processing of your data
- Right to restrict processing — request we limit how we use your data
- Right to data portability — receive your data in a portable format
Since BrainBloom Kids collects no personal data from users directly, most of these rights relate to data held by Google AdMob. To exercise your rights with Google, please visit Google's Data & Privacy settings at myaccount.google.com/data-and-privacy.
Device Permissions
BrainBloom Kids requests the following device permissions. All permissions are requested only when needed and can be revoked at any time in your device settings.
| Permission | Purpose | Type |
|---|---|---|
| INTERNET | Required to load AdMob banner advertisements. All other app activities work fully offline. | Required |
| VIBRATE | Brief haptic feedback when a child taps a button or completes an activity (e.g. correct quiz answer, matched pair). | Optional |
Data Retention
BrainBloom Kids does not retain any user data on external servers because we do not operate servers that receive user data. All app data — game scores, progress, achievements, and preferences — is stored exclusively on the child's device using local storage.
- Game progress and high scores are stored on-device only
- Artwork saved to the gallery remains on the device unless the user deletes it
- Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored app data permanently
- No cloud backup or sync of user data is performed
Parental Rights
As a parent or guardian, you have full control over your child's experience in BrainBloom Kids:
- Review what data (if any) has been collected from your child
- Request deletion of any data associated with your child
- Revoke any device permission at any time via device Settings
- Disable or restrict ads by deleting the Android Advertising ID in device settings
- Uninstall the app at any time — all locally stored data is removed with it
- Contact us with any privacy concern — we respond within 72 hours

- No data is transmitted to our servers — we do not operate data servers
- All network communication with third-party services (AdMob) uses HTTPS encryption
- The app does not use cookies or web tracking technologies
We recommend keeping your device software up to date and using a screen lock to protect your child's device.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app's features, legal requirements, or third-party service integrations. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify users through the app update release notes on Google Play.
We encourage parents to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
